One of the things that happened in the book was the mouse getting chased by a cat. So we played a mouse and cat game. We blindfolded one of the children, they were the "cat." Everyone else was a mouse. The cat crawled around trying to catch a mouse. If the cat needed help they could meow whenever they wanted, and all the mice had to squeak back. We played until everyone had been caught.
We split into groups. The group with Miss Lauren made "AT" rhyming wheels, and decorated the wheel to look like cheese. We decorated a mouse and glued it on. The children loved decorating their mice!
The children with Miss Cindy made paper clocks and practiced telling time. They used markers and stickers. The children had lots of fun!!!
After switching activities, we made snack. We ate pizza clocks this week!!! We took half an English muffin, spread on tomato sauce and cheese, and topped it with pepperoni and olives to make it look like a clock. We put them in the oven to cook.
While snack cooked we learned about different clocks. There were 7 gift bags. In each bag there was a different object we use to keep time. We all took turns opening a bag. There were all sorts of things, like an alarm clock, a metronome, and a sundial. We talked about how we use each clock.
