Again, we split into groups. The children with Miss Lauren played a game called "What's in my Basket?" They set out a plate with plastic food on it, a cup, some silverware, etc. They would choose one child to go into the other room, and they would choose an item to put in the basket. They would call the other child back, and the child would have to guess what was missing.

Little Red Riding Hood
This week our story featured ANOTHER wolf! We read the story of Little Red Riding Hood! We split into groups right after Circle Time. The group with Miss Cindy followed an ABC path to Grandma's House. They sang the ABC song as they stepped on the letters. Then we mixed up all the letters on the carpet and took turns finding sounds/letters or spelling our names without touching the carpet. The group with Miss Lauren learned a song/chant: "Wow Whee! What can you see? Big eyes! Big eyes! Gran's got big eyes!" Then would come "Big Ears" and it kept going until we reached "Big teeth." At the end the children would scream, they liked that part. After learning the chant, we made wanted posters. We cut out different facial parts from magazines, and glued them to our posters. The faces had big/ little eyes, ears, mouths, and noses. It was really fun! Later we swapped activities. Before snack we went on a "Adventure." Everyone sat down and Miss Cindy would explain where we were "going." We moved as she told us to. (i.e. When we "walked" we pat our legs.) When we "arrived at Grandma's House," we had a picnic. The children loved this!!!!
See you next week!
