The Berenstain Bears and the Mama's Day Surprise

At preschool this week we learned about what mom's do. We read a book from the Berenstain Bears series called The Mama's Day Surprise.
Before we began are other activities we divided into two groups. The group with Miss Lauren used chalk to decorate plaster handprints we made last week.

Miss Cindy and the children with her made wrapping paper for our handprint gifts. They spounge painted. They had so much fun, and the wrapping paper turned out really cute!
In our story the mama bear goes shopping, we talked a bit about shopping. Each child got twelve dollars to spend. There were lots of options of things they could buy. They enjoyed picking what they wanted!Again, we split into groups. Miss Lauren took some of the children and did a "chore training relay." They had to weave a vacume around some cones, crawl under a table, sweep a ball into a laundry basket, put clothes into a laundry basket, climb a ladder and grab a cloth, spray a plate and wipe it clean, and then put everything back so the next child could go.

Miss Cindy and some of the other children did a reading game. There were lots of paper heart halves. On each half there was a capital letter and a lower case letter. The children had to find the matching half.Happy Mother's Day!
